Detroit Icon Auctions Off Its Old Machinery to Bargain Hunters

WYOMING, Mich.—The new General Motors sold shares in a ballyhooed public offering this week. Out of the klieg lights, a more subdued sale has been under way: the hammers, wrenches, robots, hydraulic pumps, drills and other properties that remain with Motors Liquidation Co.—the collection of unwanted assets known as the "old" GM.
