Welcome to my first attempt to communicate directly with you, our members.

If you've followed GMRA closely, you know we have added new VPs for several regions over recent days. I'd like to thank them for stepping up to help organize our far-flung retiree group and drive forward our legal strategy and legislative agenda.

If you are a club president and have not yet heard from your regional VP, I urge you to make contact and share any input for the Board. It has been difficult to obtain current contact information for the many retiree clubs. You can quickly help us improve communication by reaching out to your VP.

On that note, we are still in need of a VP for New England and the North East, as well as a Webmaster. If you have the desire to serve in one of these roles, please contact me to discuss what's involved.

Monday, we fully expect that GM will file bankruptcy in New York. This is a sad and deeply concerning time for all of us. Rest assured that GMRA is taking all necessary actions to assist GM retirees in the bankruptcy setting, while also working to reform bankruptcy law and PBGC procedures in ways that protect retirees from more of the same second class treatment.
